Captain,

I have the honor to call your attention to the fact that I have had returned to me from Albany several enlistment papers for signature by Captain Dumming in order to make them official they having been merely attested by captain Faye.

I sent them to Captain Dunning and he declined signing them. I have the honor to request that you issue an order for the captain to attach his signature as I need them to secure the organization of my regiment.

I am

Very Respectfully
You Obedient Servant
