Sir:

I have in my possession charges of a very grave nature against Privates Thomas Rice, Patrick McLaughlin, Allan C. Patterson, Terrence Rodgers, Patrick Conway, all of Company G, 29th Pennsylvania Regiment. I am directed to inquire if these prisoners can be had and if it is still the desire of the Commanding Officer to prosecute these cases.

If so, you will please inform me at your earliest convenience.
