Original Civil War parole for Captain A. F. Edwards who served in the 13th South Carolina Infantry and CSA. Document is signed by Union Major Edward Walcott and by Confederate General Bradley T. Johnson who served with the 1st Maryland Infantry and later was responsible for the burning of Chambersburg, PA in July 1864. Document was signed on May 1, 1865 at Salisbury, NC.
