Unknown seated soldier from the 114th Pennsylvania Infantry - Collis' Zouaves. Our appreciation to Historian Ron Field for the following regiment identification: "These are Collis's Zouaves, originally recruited by Charles H.T. Collis, ex-sergeant major of the 18th PA Infantry (three months), serving as Body Guard to Maj. Gen. Nathaniel T. Banks, and later expanded into the 114th PA Infantry. Their uniform was based on that of the French Zouaves D'Afrique and consisted of dark blue jackets with red trim and sky blue cuff facings, red fez with yellow tassel, sky blue waist sash, and red pantaloons."
