The Brigade, has been our long-time ambition. We hope you will come to share our enthusiasm!
We will update our online inventory frequently. We will also maintain a larger inventory that will not be listed on this site. So, we invite inquires, with the reminder that, "If you don't see it, ask." We are especially happy to accept "want lists," and will try to satisfy them in fairness to all.
CIVIL WAR ILLUSTRATED NEWSPAPERS. The Excelsior Brigade has an extensive stock of original illustrated newspapers of the Civil War era. Limited space and resources prevent us from listing and describing each paper in stock. We have every issue of Harper's Weekly from 1861 through 1865 in stock. Also, we have approximately half of all issues of Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper for this period.
WE INVITE YOUR WANTS. We will be very pleased to give you quotes on the specific issues you are searching for. Let us know the exact date(s) for issues you need. We are confident you'll be highly satisfied with our reasonable prices and the excellent condition of what we offer. We are also very willing to conduct reasonable searches for you without obligation as we have indexes by subject, illustration, etc. Tell us the battle, person, event, illustration, etc., you are seeking and we will locate what you need. All such requests should be quite specific.
