Identified Provost Guard Badge and CDV
Milo H. Cooley, Company F, 27th Massachusetts Volunteers. Identified silver provost guard badge for M H Cooley, Drummer, Provost Guard, Co F, 27 Mass with Carte de Visite (CDV) of Cooley wear his provost guard badge. CDV is identification on front bottom in period ink and signed in his hand on reverse of CDV at East Granville, Mass.
Milo Cooley enlisted on September 16, 1861 and mustered into Company F, 27th Massachusetts Volunteers on September 20, 1861. He re-enlisted on November 25, 1863 and was captured during the battle for Drewry’s Bluff, Virginia. He was paroled and later mustered out of service on July 8, 1865.
